In the Beginning...

It all began sometime around the 11th day of August, 1962.

Paul-Robert was born at Western Hospital on Bathurst Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada - in the heart of T.O.!
Clarence William Hipkiss was my Grand-Father and Helen Frazer Hipkiss was my Grand-Mother.  They were my Grand-Parents on my Dad's side.  The two of them mostly took care of me as a little Hipkiss boy at Maywood Park, Scarborough, Ontario, Canada.
My Grand-Father was a lovely man who used to like playing the drum with big band at the local senior club near Woodbine, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  He would always let me bang it with my "kid-rock" type of tempo and beat.
Nanny, my Grand-Mother, always let me flop in front of the fire place during the winter.  From what I remember, I was the only one allowed to do that.  She always had good meals for me, too.
I had my own room, and sometimes my Dad and Mum would stay downstairs in the basement in their make-shift bedroom.  I grew up with fond memories of my Grand-Parents and the park near to the house - Maywood Park.
I was the youngest child in the entire family.  My Grand-Father came from a large family, and he was the youngest, too.  My Dad was also the youngest of six children, five siblings in other words.  So, I literally was the youngest of the youngest.  My Grand-Parents really took good care of me, and I always shall be grateful for that fact. I guess they had grounded me as to what a family unit should be, lots of love and care.  I wish I never had been taken away from the home that I really loved.

Bill Guerin and Gertrude Guerin were P-Rob's other Grand-Parents on my Mum's side.
